SusannaSonata presents Morten Qvenild’s new album ‘Lokalt Piano’

‘Lokalt Piano’ is the second solo album by Norwegian pianist and composer Morten Qvenild, following his acclaimed release Personal Piano from 2015. The album continues Qvenild’s deep exploration of the piano as both an acoustic and electronic instrument.

Through original compositions and personal interpretations of others’ music, Qvenild creates an intimate and searching sound world where subtle electronics expand the piano’s natural resonance. The result is a collection of pieces that are both reflective and exploratory, shaped by Qvenild’s distinctive musical voice.

Over the past few decades, Qvenild has built an extensive, critically acclaimed catalogue of recordings and collaborations. In addition to his own projects, he has worked with artists such as Benedicte Maurseth and A-ha, establishing himself as one of Norway’s most inventive and versatile musicians.
