Elephant Song – single – Susanna
SusannaSonata SONATA082 2024Elephant Song” is an ode to being in process; to struggle, to stumble, being in doubt, feeling vulnerable, but to keep on going. All we have is here and now.
I was highly inspired by the Ethiopian pianist Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru and the first song I made on my new piano (a Steinway from the sixties, which I totally emptied my savings account to buy). Gorgeous saxophone by Harald Lassen, and in the last part of the song, kettle drums, synthesizers, and string-heaven by Sarah-Jane Summers.
The album is produced by Juhani Silvola and Susanna, and much of it is recorded at Studio Paradiso in Oslo with many wonderful musicians.
I hope this singel will bring you some kind of comfort and sanctuary. Or maybe you’ll dig the sounds and overall feel.
– Susanna
The cover is a vibrant illustration by the artist Ingrid Torvund, who has also made the incredible art for the album.
