SusannaSonata SONATA099/SONATAMC099 2026SusannaSonata presents Propan & Stina Stjern’s collaborative album ‘Shrew’.
The word shrew refers to a woman labelled quarrelsome, hot-tempered, an old-fashioned and sexist term for those who break traditional submissive gender roles. It is also slang for witch. ‘Shrew’ becomes a soundtrack to these women and their gathering: a nocturnal party for those who move in the shadows.
Since 2011, Propan has developed a distinctive practice centred on the voice and its possibilities. On ‘Shrew’, they join forces with Stina Stjern to create a slow-unfolding landscape of layered voices, tape textures and dark, psychedelic atmospheres.
